Just after the end of the Second World War, Alec Roger Manley began a business as a general builder and joiner, in Rodington, near Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
1945
Alec’s son, Alec John, joined the business, learning his father’s trade. We became an incorporated company in 1957.
We started to favour joinery manufacture and fitting over general building works, beginning to build a solid reputation as a team of expert craftsmen.

We became members of the British Woodworking Federation (BWF)

We have since been shortlisted for two BWF awards, working on a national level to raise our profile and celebrate our achievements.
1996
We attained BS EN ISO 9001, the quality management accreditation for design, manufacture and supply of joinery.
2002
We invited Anthony Hoyle, one of our joiners, to be our Technical Director. He still holds this position, 20+ years on.

We installed a biomass heating system which enables us to use our own wood waste to heat the workshops in winter.
We live in a changing world, and environmental concern is something we take very seriously. We only source timber from sustainable and managed forest.

2020
Fred’s daughter-in-law, Laura joined the team, and became a Director in 2023.
